Error downloading photo photos app osx

I have a bunch of photos marked as favorites on my iPhone. When I copy them over to my MBA (OSX High Sierra) laptop, they're not marked as favorites. The photos themselves copy over, just that the half million or so photos that I marked as favorites are not marked. In full disclosure, my iCloud library is full.
